MALAWI SHORT TERM MISSION Tuesday 12th July – Sunday 31st July 2011

michelle

A group of ten people from across the congregation make up part of an excited team that has flown out from Sydney early today travelling to Malawi to see first hand and assist with the work of the “Hope For Aids Project” being run by one of our link missionaries.  In the lead up to taday’s departure there has been many training, planning meetings, fundraising activities and prayers to ensure that the team is equipped and prepared as best they can be for the work they will be doing, and what lies ahead for them.

The mission team has a very busy schedule flying today straight to Johannesburg, before heading further into Blantyre, and onto one of the smaller villages where they will be coordinating various programs for the children in the village.  They will also be participating in various other activities including home based care visitations.  The team will spend just over a week working in the villages.

They then will travel across to Kasungu to continue their work with children before heading back home to Sydney.

The trip will not only be  a great experience and  benefit to the team but also to our congregation as we look to strengthen and develop further missionary links and to see God working in the wider world.  Please continue to pray for the team whilst they are away.
